<\/p>\nTonight, on the 13th of January, Serbian New Year’s is celebrated! In their holiday pajamas, all three members of our ISC family took part in tidying up their home for guests who are coming tonight. For the third year in a row, Marija and Marko Djurovski meet with their dearest friends to celebrate this Orthodox holiday. For this occasion, they prepared a buffet table with traditional specialties of all kinds, from cornbread, gibanica and Russian cream salad to sarma, roasted meat and baked beans, a little bit of something for everyone’s taste. They also came up with various games for the kids to be entertained.<\/p>\n

One of the rituals they practice with their guests, every year on this date, is to measure the height of each child to see how much they have grown in the past year. Maksim grew a total of 9cm in 2018 and Maria and Marko are now eagerly waiting to share this news with their loved ones tonight.<\/p>\n

\n– 500g white cheese
\n– 4 eggs
\n– 1 cup yogurt
\n– 1 cup carbonated water
\n– 1 tsp. baking powder
\n– 1 tsp. salt
\n-1\/2 cups oil
\n– 500g thin pie crust<\/p>\n
\n1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the eggs, yoghurt, water, oil, so, baking powder and crushed cheese.
\n2. Take a piece of pie crust, crumple and dip it into the prepared mixture.
\n3. Place each crust with mixture on a deep baking tray lined with baking paper.
\n4. Repeat steps 2-3 until all the ingredients have been used up.
